This months presentation was given by our youngest Guild member Ian Wille. Ian gave his presentation on Forged Metal Art. Ian has attended several blacksmithing workshops and is planning to attend SIU to major in the arts. Ian is a very talented young man and gave an excellent presentation on different techniques of the blacksmith trade, such as tapering, twisting of metals, information about metals and their workable ability, and how he has taken these another step further and turned metal into works of art. He presented several examples of the techniques and showed finished works of art that he has created. Everyone enjoyed his presentation.

The presentation this month was given by member Kelly Hughes. Kelly has created with color pencil and watercolor a series of artwork on Caterpillars found in Missouri. She has recently been a featured artist at the Nature Center in Cape Girardeau. Kelly showed each of her drawings and talked about the science of each caterpillar. Everyone enjoyed the presentation.

The presentation this month was given by Rose Wiesler on portraits. Rose did a portrait drawing of member Roger Sanford in about 15 minutes while other members watched. Everyone enjoyed this demonstration of her talent.

Rose is also a very talented painter, her work always stands out in a crowd of other paintings.
You can usually catch her at The Cat Ranch during our shows in the Spring and Fall.
She has several paintings at the
Westray Studio
